Fun with Background Work and Mail Art with Maria

Introducing new design team member Maria Schmidt…….

In 2010 I  left my native Bavaria, with my two daughters (15 and 12), my husband and our common daughter (three years) to get me to embark on a new and exciting journey. Life in a blended family, we live in the home of my husband, in Vorarlberg /Austria.

I have always been creative and I’ve always written diary. I love colors, paper and this was always something special for me to keep my reminders. I love it when creativity flows in me and I can life it. When I met my husband, my life has got a completely new direction and my creativity has evolved. It was a new experience for me to share it with my husband and I enjoy it still, again, every day. It is a very special gift in my life. I am a scrapbooker and mixed media Artist, with heart and soul. It is very important for me to keep all the important reminders write to memory and to keep them tight. But only scrapbooking is not enough for me. I like to experiment with all kinds of materials. There is nothing I do not like to try out. I like all styles. Except kitschy or cute, childlike. I am a Buddhist and working on me to become a better person. That’s a big part of my life that nourishes my creativity and inspiration

Hi Scrap FX fans!

Maria here and I´m one of the new, proud and blessed DT Members.

I hope you feel inspired with my stuff!

When I held my first packet in my hands, I was just amazed! I had so many ideas in my head that I found it hard  to choose one.

So I simply start to play.

Watch Me Grow

At first I wanted to use the Scribble Heart(2013042) as a stencil and spray with my Liquitex Sprays on a white Cardstock. After I used the color spray, I made a finish with a Gesso Spray, to give it a subtle “mood”.

The Scribble Heart, the Dandelion, heart and the wordlet “Watch me Grow” I primed with my Liquitex Paint Marker.

The Dandelion, heart (2013049) I gave an shimmery touch with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Marshmallow.

I painted the wordlet “Watch me grow”(2013034) with Acrylic paint and the Liquitex Paint Marker. Then I stamped with a white ink.

I totally fell in love with the negative from the Playground Alphabet (2012306)! I painted it with Color shine from Heidi Swapp and cut two strips.

I painted the twisted Reeds (2013047) with the same color and drew with Oil Pastels on it. After that I put it in water to give it more dimension!

The wordlet ” A daugther is a gift of love”(2012308) I used a white Liquitex Paint Marker.

Products Used:

Playground Alphabet, small (2012306)

Twisted Reeds (2013047)

A daughter is a gift of love (2012308)

Mail Art Love

I love Mail Art! You too? And I love to send mail!

So I made some envelopes.

On an other project I played with the Sea Foam Stencil (2012381) with modeling paste.

So I took this stencil & put it on the left side on the envelopes. I then repeated this after I put the paper cuts on the envelopes.

I painted the wordlets with Liquitex Paint Marker in different layers.
