Winners are Grinners

Hi everyone,

Sharryn here today with another sports layout and a cute Xmas card to share.

As I’ve mentioned before, our boys play a lot of sport. Our youngest changed sporting clubs this year and fitted in really well with the other players. Such a fabulous bunch of boys and we were very proud of them all when they went on to win their Grand Final. They got to play on a major sporting field which made the day even more exciting for all involved.

For this layout I used this Soccer Balls set with different sized balls as templates for my page background. Once I knew where I wanted them I sprayed the areas with Glimmer Mist then added a small embellishment to the middle of the soccer balls. This ensure my layout wouldn’t be too ‘chipboard heavy’ but still being able to use the chipboard pieces on my page as they matched the theme perfectly.

When I went to scrap the photos of the day I simply couldn’t go past this fabulous Scrap FX Wordlet for my title – Been There Won That. The perfect title for my page!

Gently rub over Wordlets with two different coloured inks to achieve a two tone effect.

As the back ground paper I adhered my Wordlet too was rather busy I grabbed two coloured inks that complimented each other and gently swiped one colour across the top half of the Wordlet and the second colour gently across the bottom half. I then used a foam tool to blend the colours together. When the inks were dry I gave the stars on the Wordlet a coat of Dimensional Magic just to help them stand out a little more. I adhered my Wordlet with foam mounting tape for a bit more pop off the page. So even though my background paper was quite busy, I still managed to give my title a bit of special treatment without it clashing with the background.

To tie the elements together I also used the same technique on the Trophy Cup from this awesome Champions Theme Pack on the bottom right hand side of  the page as it was also sitting near busy background paper.

So Jack now has a layout memento he can keep in his room of the day he and his team won the Grand Final!

With Xmas only (dare I say it) about 7 weeks away I decided to scrap my first card for the season. Scrap FX have some absolutely gorgeous new Xmas products available to use on your projects this year so be sure to check them out!

I fell in love with this beautiful 2 piece Wreath and Holly Leaves chipboard set from the minute I saw it and just knew I’d be using that for my first card. I painted the Wreath with Gesso and inked the Holly Leaves green. For added dimension and whimsy I used red bling pearls to the centre of the Holly Leaves. I then randomly adhered the same pearls around the Wreath to tie it in with the Holly Leaves. After giving my card a little bit more bling treatment I added some cute pom pom trim at the bottom.

Add adhesive pearls to Xmas projects for a life like look.

A very simple but effective card.

Well that’s it for me today..I hope you’ve enjoyed these projects.

Until next time…stay safe. Sharryn xx
