Steampunk Shadow Box

by admin

Misty here, to share a steampunk inspired project I created using the Shadow Box and lots of other Scrap Fx goodies!

I’ve had the shadow box in my possession for a long time now, but wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do with it.  When I received this months chippy’s  and saw the “ties” and “there’s a boy in every gentlemen” wordlet,  I knew what I wanted to do!

To me that wordlet was a perfect opportunity to scrap 3 generations of boys.  So I cut out pics of my father-in-law, my husband, and my son and made them a little more cartoonish by giving them paper shirts and chipboard ties…  My son’s head is a little bigger than daddy and grandpa’s, but I think it just adds to the wacky charm of it (that’s my story, and I’m stickin to it!) lol

Its hard to see the background of the box but its full of texture.  I used modeling paste and the steampunk and chevron stencils.  Then I added some metal bits and bobs including som old clock faces.

Most of the gears on here are chipboard pieces but I did mix in some real clock gears and Tim Holtz cogs.

Here is a list of supplies that I used:

Theres a boy in every gentleman

Dad tie Pack

Large Cogs

Mini Cogs

Instant frames

Chevron Stencil

Steampunk Stencil

Clock hands

Shadow Box

Thats it for now! I will be back soon with my last 2 projects and a tutorial!

Hope your having a great week!

Oh, and we would love to see what your making…Give us a link below to your gallery and we will stop by!
