Sisters by Amy

Hi Everyone!

Had a chance to play with my gel plate while visiting with my Mama for Mother’s Day!
Always so good when I can craft and get painty fingers with my Mom.

It’s so nice to be able to have a chance to visit
and do it again after a long 2 years of not being able to see her.

In April both my nieces had birthday’s, I can’t believe they are 20 and 17!!

We went out for dinner to celebrate and I took this picture of
them and wanted to use it in one of my journals. Lucky Auntie!

For this project I used these Scrap FX products:

Blossom Stem Stamp

Segment Circles stencil

Wildflower frame SMALL

Seed Stem Stamp, large

I also used a Dina Wakley 6 x 6 journal, a 3 x 5 gelli plate, acrylic paints, a black pen, stamps and stencils,
Ken Oliver colour burst powders, black archival ink,  random left over paper, bubble wrap, gel matte medium.

I spent a few hours just playing around making random prints on my gel plate with inks, ink powders,
acrylic paints. After I had a bunch I decided I better get to work making a journal page
with my picture of the girls. I picked some of the prints that were orange/pink colours and adhered
bits of a few of them to my journal with gel matte medium.
I then added some more bits of paint with my fingers as well as with some
stamps, bubble wrap, and stencils. I painted the
frame with a pretty contrasting teal blue and glued down the picture and
the frame. Then I went back with a black pen and
hand lettered the quote about sisters on the other side and
added some vines. I love all the grungy bits of the pages!
Here are a few close ups so you can see all the layers and bits.

And the finished piece

See you again in a few week! 🙂
