Everything Changes – Art Journal Page

by Elisa Ablett

Hi Scrap Fx Fans,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest blog post, a vintage inspired art journal page.

In a recent clean out of my scrapbooking room, I found a few Scrap FX stencils I had misplaced plus all my distress stains and decided I would create a few projects with them, I had forgotten how amazing they are to create with!

Let me take you through how I created the background for this page. To start I used the Mish Mash Stencil along with modelling paste spread through the stencil across the centre of my page to add dimension and texture. I then started to add my colour using the distress stains over the top and around the edges of the journal page. I added drops of black and burgundy to add a bit more of a vintage feel to the page.

I love how you can add dimension to the page without the bulk of heaps of embellishments and product by stencilling with black ink. I used the Hashtag Stencil to great effect around the edges of my page.

Add some grungy stamping using inks and stains, the Scrap FX foam stamps are perfect for this job!

I love how the row of the Faces Transparency shows through the colour behind each face and how it fit together perfectly with the quote.

Here is a list of the gorgeous products from Scrap FX that I used for this page:

They look like a Mish Mash of products to have together but they pulled together perfectly.

Don’t be afraid to grab 5 or 6 things from your stash and plop together, be daring and try new combinations of products and patterns.
