Take the journey and creating a zine too, by Claire.

by Claire Stead

I’m back with two more projects for Scrap FX for October!

These two projects have a different feel- one is in the Junk Kraft Journal kit and one is a zine that I created from the envelope that my Scrap FX goodies arrived in!!

So, let’s have a look at how I created these two different projects.

The butterfly is one of the pages in the Kraft junk journal kit, its a very striking page and was perfect for adding some rainbow colour to.

I worked my way down the butterfly in stripes of colours, using DWM in Ruby, Tangerine, Lemon,Lime and Turquoise. I painted both the front and the back of the butterfly cut out.

Once I had done this I started to cover the background page with different pieces of collage paper form Scrap FX.

Next, I added some black paint around the centre of the page, leaving some of the collage paper showing around the edges. I also used the Negative numbers stamps and the Dream phrase stencil to add some more layers to the background.

I also added some of the negative numbers stamp onto the butterfly too to break up the colours a little and add some pattern.

I used some words from the Kraft words to add some text to the page.

here is a list of the goodies I used in this project….

Onto the next project….

I created this project using a large A3 envelope. I carefully took it apart and the folded it into the zine.

Once it was folded I opened it out and added some colour to the background and some stencilling too.

I created the pages using lots of Scrap Fx goodies.
