Bright and Flowery by Karen J

by Karen Jarman

Hi ScrapFX Creatives

KarenJ here today, for the Aussies in the house have you started to feel the cold yet?

I am a Queenslander so any cold is cold to me but the last few days we have certainly seen a temperature drop. I am sitting in my scrapping area with slippers and tracksuit on dreaming of spring and summer.

So what’s better than creating a bright flowery journal page?

This layout took some twists and turns along the way, it started as a 12×12 and morphed into a 9ish inch with no photo!

Lots on great Scrap FX goodness here –

Hibiscus stamp
Frond stamp
Artscape stencil
Stylish Flower Stamp
Flower Frenzy Transparency
Teen Advice Transparency
Luminous Lovelies by Michelle Logan

So to create this one I started with a piece of smooth white cardstock and coated it with clear gesso and got to stamping the hibiscus, stylish flower and frond stamps.

I painted the Hibiscus flowers with shimmery paint and used distress inks for the stylish stamps and flicked water over them to give more of a water colour look.

With another piece of smooth white cardstock coated in clear gesso I grabbed the Artscape stencil and spread modelling paste with colour powder added.

Once this was dry I added some more colour and splatters around the page.

To pull everything together  I –

Fussy cut the Luminous Lovelies lady

Added flowers and leaf fronds to her hair and at the bottom of the silhouette

Added the flower frenzy transparency to the sides of the page

Added the quotes

Final flourish of more splatters!

Thanks for stopping by today and happy creating.
