“Cards for every Occasion”
by MichelleL
Scarlett here today to share a trio of cards featuring the Rose stencil (2012353) along with some additional ScrapFX goodies.
For this first card I used ink and NeoColors through the Rose stencil to create my rose embellishments. I wanted the artsy roses to be the feature of this card and kept the rest to a minimum, especially since this card is for my guy. 😉
To recreate the inky roses on this card take an ink pad(s), blender brush of choice, and rub through the Rose stencil. To recreate the NeoColors roses take a watercolor crayon(s), watercolor paints would work too, and brush through Rose stencil. Cut out select portions from your stencilled creations for your embellishments.

I’d have to say this card is my favorite of the trio. I’m kind of chuffed at how the brick background came out and delight in having a rose floating among clouds.

While I was waiting out my background drying I started perusing through my chippie stash (I’ve been smitten with ScrapFX for some time!) and found this Steampunk Woman (2012336). Steampunk pieces typically intimidate me some since my usual style is quite different and I don’t get light bulb type ideas of how to use them. I decided to go for it and think the silhouette look suits her well. I used black paint to colour her and homemade glitter glue on the bottom portion of her dress. The dried rose texture was painted.
I find it a fun challenge to discover numerous ways to use a product more ways than one. This not only helps creations continue to look fresh, but I find the longevity of my interest in them is increased. I hope this inspires you to look at some of your products in new ways and take the challenge as well.
Until next time, take care!
Loving the brick background.
Learned new ideas this time too!
