“On Cloud 9” with Scarlett

by MichelleL

Today we welcome Scarlet Salamone, back to the design team:

Hi There!! I’m Scarlett and thrilled to be back with ScrapFX and joining you from WI, USA. My days are occupied with running our family farm and dog kennel business, along with caring for my family (hubs, son, daughter). During the evenings and down times between chores I love to create whimsical pieces that reflect life here on the farm, my love for clouds and colors, and of course documenting all the other family stuff that goes on through scrapbook pages. I am looking forward to inspiring and being inspired. Cheers!

Really thrilled to share, not only my first page back with ScrapFX, butย the first one I’ve completed in over a year – eeps! That is just how inspiring ScrapFX goodies are to me, I’m kick started and rarin’ to go.

Today I have a LO and tutorial for y’all to share in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it!

When I start a page I’m usually inspired by a photo or a product. In the case of this page it was both.ย  I was excited to use the new Pod stacks (2017202) stencil and chose to make some embellishments using it.

Step 1: Rub modeling paste through the stencil on some scrap paper and set it aside to dry. I envisioned flowers.

Step 2: Begin working on background by adding paint through the Damask Stencil (2014054). Add some mist splatters.

Step 3: Arrange pattern papers

Step 4: Grab the, now dried, Pod Stacks stencilling. Cut out three pieces and paint.

What a quick and easy embellishment right??!

Step 5: Add your picture, Pod Stack embellishments, and in my case, the cow from the Farmyard Set (2009051). Y’all do not even know how long I have waited to use that and it’s on a page with my very own cow!!

Step 6: Grab the wordlet, On Cloud Nine (2014223), and sprinkle with embossing powder. Heat it up, melt it down. ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 7: Add your wordlet and any other finishing touches. Beads, confetti, another cloud (you will find I have a love for them), and a tag from the Lace Tag Set (2012040 K) for journaling finished it off for me.

The completed page and some closeups:

This is a page documenting the day I brought home my Jersey heifer calf, Clementine. She was a childhood dream come true and I still pinch myself every once in a while when I look at her y’all. As I shared above I have waited what seemed like forever to use that cow chippie! It was totally worth the wait. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A closer look at the Pod Stacks embellishments. I have great fun thinking of various ways to use ScrapFX products and cannot wait to share how my brain works with ScrapFX.

I also delight in never really having to search or think of the perfect titles for pages any longer, ScrapFX wordlets have me covered.

Thanks for joining me today and I’ll be back later this month.
