With Wings, by Misty

It has been a while since I’ve shared some projects with you, and I’ve definitely missed it!  Today I have an altered journal cover and a wall hanging.  I also have a video to share at the end if you are interested…

First up is a simple journal cover.

I covered the journal with gesso and then applied some modeling paste over the big, Majestic Moth Stencil.

I kept the stencil down and applied a couple of different colors of Tattered Angels Mists and let them dry a little before removing the stencil…but before it completely dried I also added some glitter.

The texture in the background here is actually a result of stamping the Butterfly Stamp into the wet gesso.  I didn’t want clear images, instead I just wanted some fun texture and this stamp created lots of pretty swirls.

Next, I have my wall hanging…with_brave_wingsI used some of the cardboard that came in my DT package.  It worked perfectly with the size of Prima paper I used, and I loved the brown and tan together so much that I decided to keep the top of the paper that would normally be trimmed off.

I won’t go into a lot of detail on how I created this because I do have a video showing my process but I will say that this alpha stencil is one of my new favourites. It’s tied with the numbers stencil I think. 🙂

I will say that I decided to use the adorable Baby Mobile Frames in a different way.  They created some fun layers in my background.

Here is a quick little video showing my process…
