Saying Goodbye – Anita Bownds

by admin | 2 Comments

Hi everyone,

Happy February, I hope you all enjoyed the holidays I know I did !!

I’m sad to say this will be my last post for Scrap FX.

I’ve had a blast creating with Scrap FX chipboard!

So with that being said  here are my last creations as part of the Scrap FX team.

My first layout I’ve used “The thrill of victory

as my title as I love using the chipboard wordlets.

the thrill of victory - Anita Bownds 2015 feb Scrapfx DT (1)

and also added lots of `flicks’ of mist to match my pattern papers

I pulled out my embossing powder and gold ink, nothing like adding some gold to the page.

And here is my second layout.

I used another wordlet for my title but this time I separated the words so I could spread out my title.

The Scrap FX products I used:  100% Loveable –  Map Pointers and Random Dots stencil.

With the stencil I used impasto with glitter mixed into it and applied it over the cardstock.

This time I wanted to use silver ink on my title and I also added it to my map pointer with the little heart.

I hope you have been inspired today to play with some wordlets.

Then I painted my chipboard Love (hearts) You  (2014384)

As you can see I wanted to use the word (you) from the Love (hearts) You (2014384)

chipboard so I cut the word away from it and placed it as part of my title.

Hobble with Style – Anita Bownds

by admin | 1 Comment

Hi everyone!

Have you checked out our themed chipboard this month?

Medical and car themed!

I chose to go with the medical as I had a photo of my daughter Kara when she broke her leg.

I drew a robot girl on her cast and added some bling so she could hobble with style.

Walking wounded - Anita Bownds july ScrapFX DT (1)

For my title I used the Walking Wounded  chipboard wordlet.

I painted it white and added some light blue/green to the bottom to give it a 2 tone/ombre look.

I als used the Cross Confetti stencil on my background.

lovin the texture – Anita Bownds

by admin | 4 Comments

Hi everyone,

this month I wanted to work with stencils.

For my first layout I played with the Circle Weave Stencil.

When i start a layout, I always have an idea of what I want my background to look like.

A big part of the design, is the photo size and where it is going to be on the layout, and the title (if i want it to be big or small).

I started off with my big chipboard title and a big photo.

Using a light mango paint colour with impasto paste

I wanted to use the stencil on 3 spots on my layout,

adding a few flicks of black mist.

I painted the chipboard wordlet with black paint so it would pop on the page

Way to go

and here is a close up of the texture using the Circle Weave Stencil.

My second layout features the

Orchid Stencil.

After cutting out my background using my cameo

I stamped on my cardstock and added texture using pink paint mixed with impasto.

and a fabulous bit of chipboard   the Flourish 08

I painted it white and

cut it into bits and used it in 2 places on my layout.

I hope you have been inspired ..to play with some stencils
