Hi Scrap FX friends,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest inspiration for you, a fun art journal page featuring Michelle Logan’s new Funky Folk WILD Silhouettes and loads more Scrap FX goodies.

For my background I was inspired by Michelle Logan and also Dina Wakely, with their bright and colourful paint combinations and layering, including mark making, stamping and grungy scribbles.  Michelle’s new silhouettes make it so easy to layer your chosen Scribble person along with your foam stamping.

A big tip with your Scrap FX foam stamps is to apply your paint using a brayer, you get a great even coverage of paint without overloading the stamp.

Another great tip is to use objects around you for example I used the edge of a steel ruler and black paint to create grungy lines on my page. Get creative with household objects, lids, rulers etc.

Here are a few close ups to show the finer details:-

Scrapbook layouts by Heike`sAugenBlick

Hello everyone,

we now have the third stay at home week behind us while I am writing this post.

I hope you all are well? Now, the weather here in Europe is becoming very springlike.

I think it’s going to be hard for a lot of people to stay indoors now, but we can do it together:

for the people who are in the risk group, for the older generation, but also for the people who now give everything to care for our loved ones. For all these people I stay at home.

But now I want to tell you something about my layout. I have made two scrapbook pages with the new collage paper from ScrapFx. Michelle Logan designed the collage paper. As you already know from me, I like to design my scrapbook pages on white background. White and empty areas on my scrapbook design are very important for me. The eye gets more rest and the individual clusters get more attention and just as there are white surfaces on my art, there is also hardly a scrapbook page without my favorite black surfaces.

I created two pages in the same style but with different colors and embellishments and photos.

I made the first layout with a photo of my daughter Mia, in pastel and spring colors. On the second layout I worked with bold colors and a photo of the men’s autumn/winter fashion 2018 of Karl Lagerfeld.

Two rainbow coloured art journal pages – by Niamh

Hi Everyone,

I’m still obsessed with Michelles funky graffiti peeps and I have been using them in all my art journal pages as a focal image. It is so easy to create a colourful background then add the figures as a focal point which definitely catches the eye.

The first journal page is inspired by the fabulous Lisa Oxley (@scrapwitchlisa on instagram) and her amazing work with rainbow colours and white space. The second page is a fun collage mash up using a super secret sneak peek of something being released next month!!! So excited!!!

Here is the step by step video to create the first page:

My art journal, with Ros Aggett-Madley

by Ros Madley | Comments Off on My art journal, with Ros Aggett-Madley

Hi, hope you’re all well.

Today I share a couple of journal pages, both featuring Funky Folk and Graffiti Peeps.

I’ve realised that I feel the need to put wings on these little guys and for this page I have used the Botanical Stencil and some gloss medium for these.

Once dry, I have added some water and Colour Blast shimmer dust for a nice bright colour wash.

I have also outlined the Funk Folk in black and added a quote with matte medium from the Philosophy Phrases transparency.

My next page is in my black journal and has a couple of Graffiti Peeps and a Funky Folk.

The Graffiti Peeps have been messy outlined with Posca Pens.  The dots around the page have been done with some Poscas and the Random Dot Stencil.

The title is from the Philosophy Phrases Transparency and has been painted on the back before adhering to my page.

Hope you’ve been inspired ♥

Perfectly Imperfect Junk Journal

by Deb Adams | Comments Off on Perfectly Imperfect Junk Journal

Hi All

I am so glad that in March I attended the Picture to Page Craft Event in Bendigo.

At that stage blissfully unaware of the extent of social restrictions & life changes that were looming.

I invited a close friend & we had our own weekend craft retreat there.

They had a great range of Scrap FX products.

It was great to see the products in the flesh, to see the sizes of the stencils & stamps & especially the range of Junk Journals on offer.

Here is the finished Nature Journal I purchased that weekend.

Here are some close up photos of the Funky Folk (weird) figures  & wings transparency I used on the front cover.

The back cover below shows lots of layers of other Scrap FX products that were used throughout the Journal.

These included the Grids stencil, Stitched rice paper, Scribble word stamp & Spots & Lines stamp

I have included some of the inner pages I have decorated.

They are made up of all different sizes & styles of paper.

The sentiments used throughout are from the Phrases rice paper sheet.

On the pages above I used the Butterfly transparency & Funky Folk (Wild) figure.

Did you notice on the right the journal page has a cut out section.

The Beautiful butterfly stamp set & the Circle collage stamps were added over gelli printed pages.

Another Funky Folk (wild) figure & the Butterfly stamp peeking through the transparent page.

Here is a clearer image of the Transparency & notice the Wings cut out on the other page.

On the final pages I have used the Sketchings & Phrases rice papers, Grid stencil & Scribble stamp again.

It actually was therapeutic to make this junk journal.

Writing down things I was feeling about the present situation made me feel more calm & centred.

Some of the pages are more personal & so I have not included them here,

but I can tell you this Junk Journal contains lots of pages.

I did not even use all that were in the kit.

Waxed thread & instructions for stitching the Journal together are also provided.

Overall Great value & lots of fun to play with!

Cheers for now

Hi dear friends,

Lisa here on the blog to share with you my new art journal page playing with Scrap Fx stamps and collage papers!

First I took a piece of white rice paper and I stamped randomly some designs using Scrap Fx stamps with archival inks. So I glued some pieces of collage papers, then I brushed white gesso to blend them with the background. I used my watercolors and then others Scrap Fx stamps with archival inks.

Here some close-up photos:

I used these Scrap Fx products for my page:

I hope you enjoyed my art journal pages!

Hugs, Lisa

Perfectly Imperfect

Hi there!

Tanya Here with my first share for the month.

Today I have for you a fun bright Art Journal Page, using the super cool graffiti Peeps.

I also used the Scribble Word Stamp

I started on a Black background and using paints stamped rings using lids and then stamped with bubble wrap in lots of neon colors.

I then collaged onto the top of the painty background a figure from the Graffiti peeps, and painted him with more paint. Once dry i went back over  with a black and white pen to make him pop. The title was then collaged and highlighted with a pen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fantastic Funky Folk

by Niamh Baly | Comments Off on Fantastic Funky Folk

Hi All,

The amazing Michelle Logan has been at it again creating these wonderful figures for us to play with. As soon as I got my hands on them – they went straight into my journals. I created two pages in my use it up journal and the figures just finished the pieces off.
To create these pages I had excess paint already in my journals scraped onto the backgrounds. I stamped over the pages using coloured archival inks in similar tones to the background colours. I then did some mark making in the background using paint markers. Finally I cut out the figures and glued them onto the pages. On the right hand side I also added the Keep calm quote and painted a crown gold to give her a regal feel.

These pages were very quick to create but have so much personality. Below are the videos showing you the step by step process of creating these pages. Underneath are an extra two pages – because why stop with 2 when you can make 4!!!

My bonus pages:

The scrap FX products I have used on the page are listed below. I hope you have fun creating with these funky new characters. I’m going to be putting them on everything!!!

Happy creating,

Keep Calm and Be Awesome by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

My turn up on the Scrap FX Blog today with the first of my projects for the month of April.

I loved the new Scribble Word Stamp and Splodge Rice Paper from this month’s new release and inspiration struck…a grungy boy layout.

I used the Graffiti Grunge paper collection and Embossing Powders from Bee Arty with Colour Blast and I think it worked beautifully with the Scrap FX products.

Let’s take a look at the Scrap FX products used to create the layout:-

Keep Calm and Be Awesome – Black Large

and now let’s take a closer look at the finer details!

> I used a small brayer and rolled turquoise paint over the chicken wire chipboard

> I heat embossed the Scribble Arrow Corner Chipboard piece with Dusty Charcoal, Envy and Steel embossing powders from Bee Arty with Colour Blast range. If you emboss with the Dusty Charcoal colour first then with the turquoise ‘Envy’ colour over the top, you get a great distressed look to your chipboard.

> Splatter black ink over your background and brayer turquoise paint to create a grungy look. Then stamp your Scribble Word Stamp and Collage Circle Dot Stamps for a Graffiti look.

> Fussy cut and layer your paper collection’s tag sheet under your photo along with some torn black paper to add to the look!

I also used black modelling paste through the Mark Making stencil.

Here is the Graffiti Grunge paper I used as my background sheet.
