Layout “Beautiful” and card -By Christine

by Christine David | Comments Off on Layout “Beautiful” and card -By Christine

Hi everyone!
Today I am with you to show you my last two creations of April.
I made a layout with a small step by step
pictures and a card.
To begin here is my layout.

Some close-ups

For starters I applied a layer of clear gesso
on all the background paper.
Then I used a stencil and graphite texture paste
to make a textured pattern here and there on the bottom of my page.

On the big chipboard shaped house I applied
green paint, then some white gesso here and there.
I found that it lacked depth so
I decided to add two kinds of brown Distress oxide.

I cut out a lot of pictures in the beautiful papers
from the company Mintay Paper.
I then pasted them on my page. With Distress Oxide
pale pink and water I added color around the embellishments.
Then I made white drops everywhere
with Splash! Ink of 13 arts.

On the #Beautiful chipboard I put some
Versamark and embossing powder

Happy Happy Easter to each and every one of you

I hope the Easter Bunny found you all……………

My first layout today is one that I have created with the following Scrap FX products: Loop Fingerprint Stamp, London/New Yorl Transparency Stamps and the “Life is the Greatest Adventure” A.

Here are two close ups for you:

Here you can see the title and one of the transparency tags

And if you look close enough you can see the Loop Fingerprint stamp in white

And for my second share with you I have to admit I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something that I have never tried before…….Image Transferring.

By no means have I perfected it or profess to know what I was doing…..but that’s what art is, somedays it works and somedays it doesn’t but you never know unless you try.

The products that I have used are the: Chevron Panel stamp and the Antiquities Transparency

And on that note……I’m going to eat Chocolate

Happy Easter

If you have any questions about any of the projects I have created contact me or comment below.

Once again i’m excited to see what YOU create with these products – don’t forget to share your layouts/projects on Scrap FX Creative Space on Facebook

Till next time……..Happy Scrapping

by Tanya Froud | Comments Off on Some more creations with this months new release..

Hi there,

Who’s loving this months space theme!! Its such a versatile range, great for both boy and girl layouts as seen in these 2 layouts.

For this page i brayered on layers of purples and blues onto a black background and added gold elements to create the feel of the night sky.  I then stenciled on the moon with the  moonface stencil.

Once i had that done i fussy cut my photo and used up off cuts of papers and bits of ephemera i had to build some layers before adding the chipboard frame that i had heat embossed in gold.

Binary Code Stamp

Sunburst Chiipbord

Celestial Moon Stencil

Project 2 “Stay Curious”

This was created stamping using Oxide inks and the Chevron Panel stamp and the Orb stamp, and finished using the Circuit frame painted black.  I tried to keep this page simple as i only had a small photo to work with.

An art journal page and two tags

by Lynn Good | Comments Off on An art journal page and two tags

Hi everyone, today I would like to share an art journal page and two tags that I have created.

I am a lover of bright colours and have created this out of space art journal page.

I began creating the background using dylusion inks  Once dry I made some white circles with Titanium white paint.

I have coloured the circles, again with dylusions paints and a Stabilo All pencil.

I have used colour blast  paste and the molecule stencil around the “planets”

Once dry I have added the details- stamping and the focal point being the rocket man.  The title has been embossed with a black glitter embossing powder and the spaceman with plain coloured embossing powders.

For my second project I have created two tags

I have created these two tags using the Journal tags that are available at Scrap FX.  The chipboard pieces have been painted in Spectrum Noir alcohol inks and the background stamps using distress oxide stamp inks.

Mud monsters and dinosaurs by Niamh

by Niamh Baly | Comments Off on Mud monsters and dinosaurs by Niamh

Hi all,

When I received the April kit I was super excited about the space products – but these chipboards captured my heart. Mostly because as soon as I saw them, I know which photos I had to scrap. So I present my husband and I as Mud Monsters in Rotorua (New Zealand), and my daughter riding a dinosaur and ‘rawwing’ the whole time she was on it (I know – it was a dragon – but she called it her dinosaur).

The mud monsters page was created by using a collection of project life cards and sticking them onto a background page. Pro tip – stamp your images before you stick the cards down!!! However, if you forget like I did, just use a card you have a lot of as a mask while you are stamping so you don’t stamp on your main images. I then coloured the chipboard in using paint markers in colours to compliment the background. This is a really simple page – but I love how it came together. Here is a link to the process video: https://youtu.be/1UVmJjsE_sI

The dinosaur page is a favourite – just because of the memories captured in it. When I showed my daughter the page – she insisted that it go up on her wall in her bedroom so she could look at it all the time. Happy mum:) On this layout I used embossing powders to layer up colours to create a lizard skin effect. On the dinosaur I used paint markers and a stencil to add in additional markings, as well as teeth and an eye. The background paper used a combination of the circular shawl mask, the mark making D stencil and the chevron panel stamp to grunge up and add prehistoric details to the background. Here is a link to the process video:https://youtu.be/4WFJSu9EgZs

Below are the Scrap FX products used on these pages. I hope you like these layouts and are inspired to create your own.

Happy creating,

A layout and a canvas by Ros Aggett-Madley

by Ros Madley | Comments Off on A layout and a canvas by Ros Aggett-Madley

Hi everyone, today I have a couple of projects to share with you.  The first is this layout featuring some of the new Scrap FX products.

I started this page by adhering the chipboard Chevron Panel to a scrap piece of cardstock.

I’ve then filled the gaps in the piece with some Bo Bunny glitter paste.  Once this was dried, I went around the shape with a black posca pen and using a craft knife, cut the piece from the cardstock.

Next I have added some modelling paste to my background with the Chevron stencil and added some Colour Blast Artist Ink.  I cut my embellished chipboard in half and did the same to the Celistial Silhouette.

On top of the modelling paste, I have lightly stamped with the Chevron Background Stamp.

To finish off my page, I made a mask out of paper towel and did some messy stamping around the edge of my layout with the Binary Code stamp.

For my next share, I have made another canvas.

My base was started with some texture paste and the Random Dots stencil and Molecules stencil.  On top of this I have added some water colour ink, tissue paper and some pieces of chipboard Molecule.

I have done some gelli printing on a tag.  I’ve added some scrip paper and stitching and popped this into a Feather Paper Pocket.  I have used a sewing machine to messy stitch around this.  I also added some more feathers to the pocket.  These were stamped in white ink onto some gelli printed paper with the Doodled Feather stamp.

My title has been heat embossed with a shabby chic embossing powder.

I have also heat embossed the Wildflower chipboard frame.   I did this is a pretty gold and is the base that my focal feature is on.

When I saw this Moonface stencil from Scrap FX

I knew I had to feature it with this funny photo of my husband.

It  cracks me up just remembering that day.

The whole family laughed so hard.

Jill Wheeler sends such nice thick A4 chipboard packaging with our goodies from Scrap FX.

I had to use one as a base for this creation once I laid down a coat of white gesso.

I sprayed the background with watery drips of Distress oxide, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber & Iced Spruce.

I lightened the background with Antique Linen & the  Lineage Stamp.

Texture was then applied by inking embossing folders & swiping over the surface.

Geometric stencil & Code background stamp repeated these layers with Seedless preserves & Chipped sapphire.

The Moonface stencil applied with Black, Seedless Preserves & Chipped Sapphire distress oxide inks.

Splatters of water added a blended oxidized effect.

The molecules transparency repeated these patterns in the background.

Brushed Pewter distress stain was applied to the chipboard pieces, Outta this world & Molecules.

Splatters of silver & black.   The sentiment printed from my computer as well as some handwriting

complete this piece.

Hope it brings a smile to your ‘moon face’ too!

Cheers   Deb
