Christmas and Dinosaurs – Michelle H

by admin

Hello chipboard fans!!!

I am so excited to share my first Christmas card of the season!  Each year I make a list of recipients I want to impress with scrappy powers.  Each year I fail to send the cards.

Not this year!!! I’m ready!

Scrap FX helped get the party started:

I used vellum and red card stock as a base. I LOVE the Partridge In A Pear Tree design!

I was too chicken to color the chipboard since it's so beautifully etched. I'm sure Prima Chalk ink or Sakura gel pens would fill it in perfectly.

One great thing about moving to Utah is easy access to dinosaurs.  They are simply everywhere here!

Lola’s favorite dinos, Stegosaurus and Raptor, were first discovered in this state so we can see actual bones in the museum not just the usual plaster casts. There are also Dino themed playgrounds in the most unexpected places.

Case in point:

I went to a local mall to visit a scrapbook store and walked away with some new paper and some great photos of Lola playing in by what is now her favorite playground ever. Double score!

For this page I used the FAB mini dinosaur pack. I was playing around with some vintage medical file folders from the thrift store- they are the exact same Manila color as my beloved Scrap FX tags so I see many pages with raised tabs in my future.

For this page I used the hexagon stencil with light molding paste in the background. I was really just playing with paper as I had zero inspiration- sometimes you just have to let go and make the mistakes.

Lovely card Michelle – great chippies and design!!! Congratulations on getting the 1st Christmas card done for your list … I’m afraid that I have great intentions with handmade cards and fail each year too, so maybe this year is the year for me to get them done & posted too 🙂
Fabulous photo and page – so many cool elements it’s ROARsome!!!

  2. I really love that Christmas card Michelle! Great design and I agree that chippie is too cute! Your page is outstanding! I love the neutral tones and your use of the hexagonal stencil – I also love that Lola loves dinos!! I so did too when I was little. The photo on here is adorable!
