A Recipe for a Scrappin’ Good Time – A New Challenge!

by admin

Greetings to You and welcome to the weekend!!  Its challenge time and you know what that means right?  Our team has collaborated to come up with something dazzling for you to check out and play along with!  This time around it happens to be a recipe.

Each member of the group posted one requirement – it had to be on the project they created and will need to be on yours as well!

This is what the recipe includes:

  • The color teal
  • Feather(s) (real or faux)
  • Use a stencil
  • Include some heat embossing
  • Flowers

Quite the fun recipe, huh?  Now to see the team’s inspiration to get you started!

Elisabeth

Elisabeth

Elisabeth has created a super fun and playful page featuring an adorable picture of her daughter being silly.  The background she has created using the new ScrapFX stencils goes along perfectly with it and yet she was able to bring about a girly softness to it with the flower/feather/fern frond cluster.  All elements from the challenge are present on her page except heat embossing which she didn’t have available to use.

Products Used:

Random Dots Stencils (2013172)

Scribble Script Stencil (2013171)

Star Confetti Stencil (2013189)

Fern Fronds (2011230)

Cindy

Cindy went off the page for her project and created an uber cool shadow box!!  Talk about wow factor and beautiful indeed.  She has created magnificent layers of texture along the outer edges of the box and the color blending is equally outstanding.  On the inside you can see she has tucked in all sorts of goodies to not only get in each of her recipe items but to create a lovely scene as well.  Here’s a closer peek of some more stenciling she did:

Cindy’s use of the Triangle Border Stencil really makes a huge impact here.  Shows just how much borders can make all the difference in adding detail and finishing off a project.

Misty

Misty has gone to town creating a layer-palooza highlighting a most gorgeous photo of herself – something us scrappers need to do more of!  She has mixed and mingled all the elements of the recipe so effortlessly its truly stunning to look at each detail.  The peacock feather however, truly stands out to me – talk about gorgeousness to the max right there!!  Love how its isolated and the colors are so vibrant! Check it all out from a different angle:

Renata

Sigh. There is just something about the classic elegance of Renata’s pages that captivate every time.  Her layers of fussy cut elements, along with chipboard, clean stenciling with clear baubles, and rhinestones is so beautiful.  The way she uses flourishes to create movement about the page is whimsical and elegant and of course the photos are the star of the show.  I adore how she doubled up on this cutie picture of her and her son.  Who says you have to have two different photos on a page?  This is a great design feature and way to show off a fav photo!

Flourish 01 Curl Large (2013200)

Random Dots Stencil (2013172)

Amy

Innocence, ALassiter, FULL

Amy has created a spectacularly sweet page capturing the essence of childhood innocence.  Love candid shots like these and find some of the best pages come about from them.  The dreamy feel of this page is really enhanced by the teal background she created paired with the Freedom Saying Stencil.  Did you notice how she used bits of it throughout the background as well?  The raw chippies here are another great feature really playing off the bold colors already used and go so well with the real feathers she has tucked here and there, ever so subtly.  Here’s a closer look at her stenciling:

The words here are so crisp, texture amazing, but what is really cool is the glittery effect!!  Do you see that shimmer??!  That is tremendous!

Flourish 03 Beads Large (2013202)

Unbelievable to see five fantastically different projects come from one recipe.  Now its your turn to show us what you can do with it for a chance to be featured right here on the ScrapFX blog!!

All you have to do is create any type of project and include all items from the recipe list and post your creation to the Facebook page by Sunday July 28.   Don’t have Facebook?  No worries, post a link to your creation here and we’ll be happy to stop on by to check it out!

And don’t forget there is still time to enter the card challenge (July 15th), so get on making those cards too!

Have a creative weekend!!
