Large Shadow Box by Michelle Logan

Hello to all,

The other Michelle here with a little something I have been playing around with, the Large Shadow Box Kit (2012041).

Now when I first got my hands on this I was so full of ideas I was running round in circles (in my head)!

So nothing really happened till I sat my self down last weekend, took a deep breath and just had a play. Needless to say it looks like I may have to “get me some more” of these to satisfy the creative beast within!

So here it is:

I used all ScrapFx chippies, on the frame is my personal favorite Flourish F (for fave) (2008073) coated roughly with cream paint the whilst still wet sprayed with mist.

The box comes with all the pieces you need and comes together so easily that it is a breeze to create!

The Small Provincial Clock (2012003) came up so well with 1 coat of Mica paint with some dimensional magic on the hands (that are separate to make it easy) so that they shine and the cream Flourish tags (2012041c) just seemed to suit the theme so well, just cut out words from an old book for the "quote".

I have been playing around with making feathers for a while call it an obsession if you like ( just wanted to perfect my clumsy technique) so added one here made from an old Hymn book, the paper was perfect for it, I just love the texture this element brings!

The feather is sprayed with Lindys stamp gang mists, when I dried it the paper just curled naturally.

The Reed Stem (2011171) and Bird Cage were treated the same with Mica paints and Dimensional Magic to add some shine.

The outside of the box I used scrap paper with Mod Podge then sprayed with the mists to tie it all together.

The Kits come in 2 sizes this one is the large, and come with a hanger that you can place anywhere on the box to suit whatever you create! What more do I need to say but have a go, you won’t be disappointed!

I hope I have inspired, it really was a fun project to do and easy to assemble.
