Cards Can Be Challenging – Are You Up For It?

by admin

Hello ScrapFX Fans and welcome to the weekend!  We’re happy to be sharing another group post today and this time it involves you.  The designers have been hard at work creating cards.  Yes you read correctly, cards.  Each design team member was issued the challenge to create one masculine and one feminine card using some of their ScrapFX goodies.  We particularly wanted to show you how fabulously well the new mini designs really rock for cards but we also threw in some oldie but goodie pieces as well.  So let’s get this party started and at the end of the post stay tuned to see how you can play along to win some ScrapFX goodies and a chance to be featured here on the blog!!

Claire’s Cards

Claire’s girly card is a delightful mix of the mini chippies along with trinkets and colorful ribbons to give the perfect mix of neutrals with a color pop.  A pocketful of wishes indeed – reminds of something you’d see in Wonderland!

She really rocked the birthday card for her hubby who happens to be in a career field where this card suited him perfectly!  From the color combo to having the excavator actually picking up an item to all the metal details this card surely has a masculine flair.  I can totally see this working for little boys too. 😉

The following items were used on Claire’s cards:

Mini Apples 2013137

Mini Cherries 2013138

Mini Elm Trees 2013127

Excavator and Truck 2010098

Anita’s Cards

set of baby cards boy and girl - Anita Bownds 2013 june scrapfx dt

Anita made an adorable set of baby cards.  Don’t you just love those little dresses with the glittery chipboard shapes on them?!  What about the boy card with the cutie little feet – one chipboard and one stamped – totally darling.  Fantabulous ideas for all those baby showers one might be attending.

The following products were used on Anita’s cards:

Baby Girl Theme Pack  2013114

Baby Boy Theme Pack 2013113

Rachelle’s Cards

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

Rachelle has created a gorgeously layered card to welcome a baby boy.  The rocking horse is a great addition to add to the boy theme and this is sure to be a card the family will keep for the baby’s book as a keepsake.

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

Another fabulously beautiful baby card, this for a little girl.  Rachelle has created a unique little clothesline on this card, as one of her many layers, featuring lots of the pieces from the baby girl theme pack.  The flowers on the clothespins make an adorable addition.  This card will surely be cherished.

The following products were used on Rachelle’s cards:

Baby Boy Theme Pack 2013113

Rocking Horse 2010277

Baby Girl Theme Pack 2013114

Welcome Baby Theme Pack 2013115

Scarlett’s Cards

Scarlett decided to make a side step card for her welcome baby card.  She used lots of girly patterns in her papers and let the cutie chipboard pieces do all the work in welcoming the new addition to the family.

Here she used another different style card design and created a double pocket card.  With Father’s Day quickly approaching this challenge came just in time to create a little scene using some of the new mini pieces.  The ScrapFX tags slide in the pockets to hide the sentiment until dad decides to follow the one way directions and pull them out.

The following products were used on Scarlett’s cards:

Welcome Baby Theme Pack 2013115

Baby Girl Theme Pack 2013114

Mini Suns 2013129

Mini Clouds 2013121

Mini BMX Bike 2013134

Mini Road Bike 2013135

Travel Embellishment Pack 2010190

Urban Stencil 2012348

Maria’s Cards

Maria has made a lovely artsy feminine notecard.  The butterfly circle is a beautifully used on this as a focal piece and all the bits and pieces play so wonderfully together.  Don’t you just love how she used the mini wing on the flower?  Such a fantastically creative idea to give a bit of whimsy flair.

Her masculine card is equally as artsy and uses the Vitruvian man with class.  Her layers and use of neutral colors really give this card a masculine feel yet not overwhelmingly so.  Something to think about when struggling with how to scrap for the guys.

The following products were used on Maria’s cards:

Butterfly Circle Small 2011162

Mini Feathered Wings 2013130

Vitruvian Man 2013083
