Its time to Remember a Different World, by Misty

by admin

Hi!

Its Misty here again to share a layout and altered composition notebook with you!

First up, the layout.

I randomly glued down some tulle to the cardstock and covered it with gesso.  Then I used the super funky circuit stencil (say that 10x fast).  I love this stencil and have used it for several projects already, its really very versatile and I like the fact that you can flip the stencil around or only use parts of it and you can change up the movement of your image really easily with it!

I decided to break out the alcohol inks on this one.  Both of the corner chippy’s were given a light (uneven) coat of gesso and then colored with some blue and mossy green alcohol ink.   I also used the green alcohol ink on the zipper…I just didn’t prime it with gesso first.

I added the embossing powder and distress inks to give the “A time to remember” wordlet an aged look.

Next up….

I have an altered journal I made for my niece who just graduated high school.  This fall she will be attenting a University here in Indiana to get her nursing degree.

I thought it might be nice to journal about her college experiences.

Products used:

 Graphic Frame

“A Different World” wordlet

I embedded the graphic frame into the background by gluing it down and covering it and the rest of the page with a light coat of gesso.  Then I used some mists, but didn’t like the way they looked (hate it when that happens)….so I highlighted the frame with another coat of gesso.  I also used Amy Lassiter’s stamping technique she shared last month, and stamped with part of the roman numeral border in more white gesso.

To finish it off I added some dry wall tape, punchinella, and flowers!

Don’t you just love how unique this months release is?

They really fit well with about any style, and they are so much fun to play with!

Well thats it for now!!

Hope you had a great weekend and an even better week!

Don’t forget to stop by our facebook page and let us know what you are creating…
