Me Moments and a Heavenly Trail Tale….

by admin

It’s Miss Amy again (I’m called that by the kids at my job, as a public librarian), so excited to be sharing some of my first designs made as a blessed member of the ScrapFX design team!
Lately, I have enjoyed pairing bright happy colors with contrasting pops of black or white. When I saw the fantastic Scribble Circles 2013044 , I knew it would be a fun way to take some black paint and funny pictures, and make a funky page. And this is what I came up with:

me moments full

After painting the background, I placed where I generally wanted my pictures, all willie nilly, then I picked them up, and layered the paper. When that was all finished, it was time for the fun part…painting and placing my chippies! I painted them first with black acrylic paint, and then dabbed bits of bright colors (pulled from the background) here and there.

The beautiful Heart Dandelion (2013049) was so fun to add on its side as a whirling bit of eye candy…all painted in happy colors and glitter. Ah, glitter.

My final addition to the page were the Me (which is the word mo-me-nts cut to my needs. I have plans for the other letters) Moments (2013054) wordlets. Another fun fact…the “stamped” painted circles? done with a toilet paper roll and the remainder of black paint. hehe.

Next up, I have a really fun little mini album cover, I made to house photos of the trips my girls and I take, hiking a lovely trail near our home.

This was using the retired Gnarly Tree (2012265) chippie….and it was PERFECT for this little album, which features photos of our hiking trips in the fall (when trees are bare or nearly bare), and spring (ditto)….like this one:

brynne me, trees
This tree is so fascinating to me, so beautiful. My oldest daughter LOVED it too, and wanted to use it on one of her mixed media canvases. 🙂

And finally, I featured this layout on my personal blog some time ago, but I just had to show my take on the Scribble Hearts (large and small)2013042, 2013043….because they are some of my newest favorite embellishments…ever!

heavenly full layout

I also used the funky alphabet to spell “Heavenly”…and I used Piccolo cool set white enamel, and then stamped over the top with a Donna Downey sentiment stamp…and finally inked the edges with distress ink. (yeah…lots of steps).

Here’s a shot of the details with the small heart:
