Beautiful by Guest Designer Shell Carman

This is a photo of my baby Evie Jools on her 2nd birthday. It is one of my absolute favourite photos of her. I love the soft girly feel to it and really wanted to style my page with a shabby chic theme to compliment the photo. Scrap FX have SO many femminine pieces to suit a shabby chic style. I was spoilt for choice!

To add some texture this flourish I coated the chipboard with texture paste using my fingers to give a nice lumpy uneven finish. I used Tattered Angel glimmermist in Walnut Gold first to give a pretty gold sheen then used a sponge to apply Ranger Distress ink in Walnut Stain to give a stronger colour.

No shabby chic project is complete without a clock face!  They are such the ‘in thing’ at the moment and this flourish clock face is just so pretty. I primed this with gesso then once dry I gave it one coat of light pink acrylic paint. Once that coat had dried I painted a top coat with distress crackle paint in Shabby Shutters. Once the crackle paint had dried and cracked the pink paint shows from underneath. I then used the Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut stain and randomly smudged some colour for an aged effect.

Out of all of the fantastic products available wordlets are my favourite! They are perfect for titles and you can custom colour them to match your page. This is part of a theme wordlet that also comes with gorgeous and handsome. They are small enough to use as prompt words around your page but still big enough to use as the main title as I have done.

I primed with gesso first, then when dry a coat of light pink acrylic paint. Once this was dry  I randomly dusted some Pan Pastels in mint green for a 2 tone effect. To help the title stand out from my paper I used some brown ink around some of the edges. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Icicle for a nice pearl finish
