December Guest Designer – Shell Carman

by admin

Hi There!

I’m Shell Carman, Mum to 3 kids: Hunter 7, Kayla 4 & Evie 2.
I married my highschool sweetheart Craig in Fiji 8 years ago. I live in Victoria, Australia

I am completely addicted to Scrapping! I love doing it, I love talking about it and I love shopping for it LOL! My style is an eclectic Shabby Chic/Vintage mix. Sometimes I like it to be clean and straight lines and sometimes really distressed. All my pages have lot’s of layers and embellies. My favourite part of scrapping is using lot’s of pretties on my page especially flowers and chipboard.

I started scrapping to preserve our memories. I still like to do this but I think now I scrap more for the creative outlet and the chance to chat and make new friends! Scrapping has given me a chance to ‘meet’ people from all around the world.

I currently design for American Kit club My Creative Scrapbook. I have been published in Australian Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbook Creations .

I blog at http://www.anotherscrappyday.blogspot.com.au/

I’d like to thank Jill and Scrap FX for having me as a Guest this month!

My first page I’m sharing today is a Christmas themed page! Scrap FX have so many gorgeous Christmas themed products that were perfect for my page. I’m a traditional Christmas decorator so this influenced the products I chose. I just loved the elegegance of the hanging ornament chippie and the flourish. The Decorating the Tree wordlet was the perfect title for my photo.

I started by priming the chipboard with gesso. Then I used a coppper embossing powder on the words. I coloured the sides of the edges in Shimmerz Blingz Spiced Cider and randomly brushed this over the title for some extra pop of colour.  The tiny baubles were coloured with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Paradise Pink.

The Holly Leaves were perfect to scatter throughout my floral clusters. I primed with gesso then painted them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove. I added some Ranger Ditress stickles inAntiuq Bronze to the centres and used my finger to dab randomly on the leaves for extra bling

The flourish was primed with gesso then painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze Paradise Pink. I then covered the flourish in Modge Podge and sprinkle some fine red glitter all over

I wanted to tie the red glitter theme that was already on my paper and on the flourish so I used this again on the baubles. I used a Gold embossing powder also.
