“Stop dreaming, start doing” by Claire

by Claire Stead

Stop dreaming, start doing- that’s easier said than done sometimes….. especially when it comes to jobs, but when it comes to being arty I don’t have a problem doing!!!

So, here I a with a new project for June for Scrap FX, I am doing a page in my new Kraft junk journal using a new design by Michelle Logan.

I created this spread on a double page and tried really hard to leave some ‘Kraft” space on my page! (like white space but in the Kraft journal!)

I started off by using the Large leaf stamp and created a background on a sheet of printer paper using some Dina Wakley media paint in the colours Magenta, using the gloss spray in the colours Fuchsia and Turquoise

Large Leaf stamp

I printed the stamp not the coloured printer paper using some black acrylic paint using a blending tool to add the colour to the stamp, then I cut out the stamped leaf images.

Once I had done that, I then added some Turquoise and Peacock paint across the middle the page leaving space at the top and bottom corners of the page. I also added some splatters of Fuchsia paint across the page too.

Then I used the Abstract stencil with white paint to add to detail to the background , but used the white paint to add some contrast to the page.

I added some white splatters to the page too.

Mariposa Girls by Michelle Logan

Then I cut out the Marisposa girl that I wanted to use and stuck the four stamped leaf images onto the back of the girls t give her some wings.

Stop Dreaming SMALL

Then I added the silhouette ‘Stop dreaming, start doing ‘to the page using some PVA glue and a make up sponge to stick it down. These silhouettes are fragile so its a good way to stick them down!

Then I used the Script stencil and Scribble stamp to add some more elements to the page.

I also added some mark making to the pages using a white posca pen and then called it done!!
