Its A Date, Now and Forever

by admin

Hi All!  I’m back today to wrap up the month of animal love.  My initial thoughts on a final project were to create another mini…. and boy oh boy do I have some fun stuff  in the works to share with all you lovely ScrapFX fans on mini albums coming soon!!…. in the meantime I switched gears and whipped together a couple LOs featuring some fun ScrapFX animals.

By now you all have probably caught on how much I love farm life and country living.  To head out on a date with my hubbie to the State Fair was a spectacular treat that had to be documented – with ScrapFX chippies of course.

The cow and pig from the Farmyard Set (2009051) are so adorable all painted up!!  The barn, from the Barn and Tractor Set (2012085), too! I used a combination of gesso, paints (some metallic/shimmery), mists, and pens to get the effects on my pieces.  The horse, part of the Horse Set (2012087), was painted quickly with a base coat of brown and then roughed up with some embossing powder over it.  I also used some of my all time favorite alphas – Itty Bitty Bets – Typewriter.

Sigh… I love roosters.  Sadly ours is no longer with us and I’m looking forward to Spring already so we can get a new batch of chicks to start the season.  In the meantime this lil’ guy from the Farmyard Set makes me smile as he is sportin’ the colors my rooster had.  I think this piece is perfectly placed atop the accordion accent.

Now lets take a look at a different environment and the creatures it contains….

…. the ocean!!!  I could certainly uproot any day to live by it.  My kids adored our time in FL when they were younger hanging out and splashing in the salty water.  As you can tell by my daughter’s face some of our best memories were created seaside.

These Fishies (2009359) remind me of the movie Finding Nemo!!  So cute and playful.  It was so hard to stick to the color scheme I was working with!!  So glad I’ve got four more left to really get colorful with.  I also used a bit of Wave Border (2007168) and altered it by adding some colored gel medium and pen work once dried.

The gorgeous Seaweed Stem (2011308) was the perfect accent to tuck behind my photo.  I dressed it up by adding varying amounts of gesso in areas and te spraying over with a couple shades of mist.  Once it was dried I used a pen to add some more detail.

Quite the different animals to scrap with – both entirely fun!!  Thanks for stopping by today, take care!!

  1. Awesome pages! I love getting to see the closeups!

  2. Love a mix of her hair and chipboard!

  3. Fun pages Scarlett!

  4. Your projects always make me say ‘wow’, Scarlett! I love how the seaweed is almost an extension of her hair – it makes me think of how hair is all swirly and floaty when we lie back in the water. I need to know more about your pens because the ones I try to use over gesso and other mediums, well, they aren’t happy with me that I’m trying to do that…

  5. You do a fabulous job changed them from the naked to amazing.

Scarlett, Once again you have outdone yourself … how is that possible? Stunning work!

  7. More amazing projects, Scarlett! Stellar work, my friend!
