Two fun projects – Wordy Peeps and Elle Stencil

by Claire Stead

Hello all !

I hope you are all keeping well- here in the UK it finally seems like Summer is here!!

In today’s first blog post I am working in my black square Dylusions journal on an art journal page using the Scrap FX Wordy peeps transparency. I’m using bold, bright colours- sometimes that’s just what’s called for isn’t it!!!!

Then in my second project I am using the Elle stencil in my Kraft journal .

I started off by cutting the first page down and then using a punch to add some more detail  to the edge of the page- Its a great way to add cut out detail without getting a craft knife out.

The I used some of my favourite colours Bubblegum pink, Peony Blush, Squeezed orange and Lemon Zest in an ombre style.

I also added some stencilling using the Script phrase stencil and black paint.

I added the Wordy peeps transparency to the page and then used the same colours on the next page too.

I also added a white border around the edge of the page, some stencilling with the loopy script stencil,  and doodled some patterns into there too. I also added a quote into a black speech bubble.

here’s a list of the ScrapFX goodies I used in this project.

I hope you enjoyed this first bright, colourful project.

Then in my second project I am using the Elle stencil that I designed for Scrap FX- I played in my Kraft journal.

I started off by adding some watery colour to the pages – I used DWM in Blackberry and Marine and then added some stencilling using the Leafy Seaweed stencil and Heather paint.

These colours work so well together, some of my favourites.

The leafy seaweed stencil has such a lovely pattern and works so well as an accent on the page and is great for doodling into as well.

I stencilled the face onto both sides of the page- which framed the page well and then used the Kraft words- Journey for my quotes. I also added some cooling using a white gel pen ad a posca pen.
