Scenes from the Garden

by Amy Turner

Hi Everyone!

Today’s post will be short and sweet. It is too hot to do too much here at the moment,
actually it’s the humidity that is too much.
I am not complaining though, I’m happy to have summer here!

My project today is inspired by all the things happening in my garden.
I just moved to this house a few months ago so I only saw the garden under snow when I bought it.
It’s been fun to see it come alive, and it certainly is that. So much happening!
I sort of forgot living in an upstairs apartment for almost 20 years all the things in nature.
I have been enjoying being entertained by birds, chipmunks, squirrels, bunnies … and even a weasel!

I used the following Scrap FX items:

Bubbles Collage

Sketchings #2 by Michelle Logan

Text and Typeface Large Font

Pod Stacks Stencil

Hibiscus A Medium

Blossom Stem

I added some collage papers to a wood panel with gel matte medium

and then basically I played with paints, pastels,
charcoal pencils, texture paste, and a few die cut pieces of paper and some Tim Holtz ephemera to create a busy garden scene.

I even included a dried up blob of gold paint off my paint pallet. lol I liked the way it looked and I thought it needed to be used.
It sort of looks like a sun doesn’t it?

and just because here are a few of the things happening around my yard! Poppies, roses, weasels and bunnies! 🙂
