Courage to Grow

by Karen Jarman

Hi Everyone

Last month I started an album that is all about me this year, this is my second page, so far so good with working on it for 2021! I used a heap of products for this one but I have to say I LOVED the rice paper Splotchy Rainbows by Karen Yates. The colours are amazing. One of my favourite things to do with rice paper is to glue onto cardstock and create embellishments which is the main focus of this layout today.

The product I used were –

Queen of hustle by Ros Aggett-Madley  – It’s all about QUEENS!

Cog Stencil – always such a great staple to anyone’s stash

Splotchy Rainbows by Karen Yates – this may be my favourite item this month, look at these colours!

Muslin Stamp – another great staple to your stamp collection, great for adding texture on any page

My steps to creating the LO

  • I started with the Splotchy Rainbow rice paper and stuck it onto cardstock with gel medium and punched out circles, inked and roughed up the edges to give some grungy and messy feel to them.
  • While the rice paper was drying I started on my base by using the Cog Stencil and spread gold texture paste through the stencil.

  • I covered the entire page in white gesso
  • Added strips of the Queen of Hustle rice paper

  • Grabbed my ink sprays and created an ombre look over the entire page and added white splatters

  • Added stamping texture with the Muslin stamp
  • Layered the circles in a vertical layout and added embellishments from my stash plus spread cotton thread under the entire photo.
  • Cut out the Courage to Grow quote and added on top of one of the circles

I enjoyed creating this one and I am on a roll with my album!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you get some creating done this week!
