‘Art is Freedom’ Junk Journal Cover by Elisa Ablett

by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

My turn up on the Scrap FX blog today with my latest creation.

I decided to do the cover of my Scrap FX Junk Journal for this design team project and I wanted to add a bit of texture along with loads of Scrap FX goodies to boot.

If you haven’t seen the limited edition Junk Journals that are now available on the website, head on over and have a peek via the link below. Get your local scrap shop to order some in, they are fantastic and so affordable if you want to dip your toes into the Junk journal genre of crafting. Also makes a great art journal or traveller’s notebook.

I wanted mine to be another art journal as I really can’t get enough of them and you can never have too many …. right?

I used the little ‘Evidence’ Word Chipboard on the cover to signify that this journal contains my art ‘evidence’ or the evidence of my artistic freedom. I love collecting quotes, funny sayings, mantras etc and art journalling gives me an opportunity to keep these at the same time as getting messy with paint and stamps etc.

Let’s take a closer look –

I have recorded a little video of what the pages of the junk journal look like and a brief overview of my cover and what to do to put it all together and I will post that in the Scrap FX Creative Space on Facebook.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, hope this inspires you to try a junk journal !
