Keep Calm with Friends

by Deb Adams

Hi there,

Today I am sharing two mixed media pieces that i have created with lots of layers.

Over a white gesso base, I created a dreamy first layer with Archival & Distress oxide reinkers & rubbing alcohol.

The Leafy Landscape Rice paper designed by Niamh Baly for Scrap FX was torn into strips & applied with matte gel medium.

Patterns drawn randomly through the Zebra Circles stencil with markers.

Crackle texture paste was applied & embossed with gold & rock texture embossing powder.

White asemic writing & highlights with a posca pen.

Distress Crayons rubbed in to accentuate the textures.

The Jewelled Bird Stamp was clear heat embossed with a sprinkle of green & blue powders added.

A quote from the Art Phrases Transparency was added as a sentiment.

The Field of Flowers image was also stamped with Black ink then clear heat embossed.

Sprinkles of gold embossing powder added as well for shiny highlights.

Below is the ‘Friends’ Creation.  It was made using similar techniques.

A slightly darker background this time created from the Archival reinkers & Alcohol over a white gesso base.

I tore up the same Rice paper to make a colourful base for the Scribble Alphabet Transparency  focal point “Friends”

The Words of Wisdom stencil was used with Transparent texture paste & then heat embossed with Birds egg Distress embossing glaze in opposing corners.

Tiny collage houses & Lightbulb transparencies were also applied with matte gel medium.

Highlights & textures accentuated with Distress Crayons & white posca pen.

Happy Creating

Cheers for now
