Hi Scrap FX Fans!

Elisa here from the design team with my latest inspiration for you for this month featuring all things ‘Education themed’.

I have wanted to scrap this photo of my son for a while now, he had dressed up at school with the rest of his class as self confessed ‘book nerds’.

He shares my love of reading and collecting books so I wanted to create a layout that incorporates that as well.

One technique that I want you all to have a go at is how I created the frame – coat your chip board frame in black modelling paste and stamp into the wet paste with your Scrap FX foam stamp then dry thorougly. Once dry, use metallic waxes and stippling brush or even just your finger to smooth the wax into the grooves and stamped image, the texture and effect is amazing!

Let’s take a look at the close up images for all the finer details:-

I added rice paper to the background and black gesso to start and then layered using embossing powder, paint, foil flakes and stencilling to complete the look.


The frame was created using black modelling paste, the scrap fx numbers stamp and metallic waxes and the Achieve arrow was painted with acrylic paint then embossed over the top with chunky embossing powder and turquoise ink. I am really happy with how the frame
