“Rose Garden” . . . a Scrapbook Page by Sharon!

by Sharon Fritchman

Hi Everyone.

I am excited to share my latest scrapbook page with you today!

Here is my completed page:

And here’s my tutorial . . .

I started by picking the photo that I want to use and because this month’s theme is flowers,  I thought this photo taken at the Rose Garden in Allentown, PA, USA was perfect:

I found it in my mom’s photo album that I recently acquired and absolutely love!  It’s my twin sister, Karen, and me . . . and was taken by my dad when we were just 4 years old.

Next, I picked the paper that I wanted to use.  My mom told me that the flowers in the background were a pretty shade of pink.  That’s why I picked these pink papers:

I machine stitched the striped paper onto the pink background paper:

Then I picked my chipboard pieces:

Magnolia Branch:

Flourish 15 Streamers:

Love Flower – small

Rose Garden wordlet:

Aren’t they beautiful?  This month, to change things up a bit, I painted the chipboard pieces with acrylic paint instead of just heat embossing them:

For the Magnolia Branch, I painted it with brown and deep pink acrylic paint, let it dry, then heat embossed the middle of the flowers with one of the “Flower Stamps” and light pink embossing powder:

Flower stamps (set of 4):

I also had so much fun with the new 3D Flower Making Transparency:

I used the pink-shaded flowers, cut them out, and built them with the foam 3D pop squares that are included.

Here’s a close up:

I also created journaling strips because the story behind this photo means so much to me.  Next, I added some glitter to my chipboard pieces, then put everything together.

Here’s a look at my completed page:

With some close ups and different views:
