Spread Your Wings and Fly . . . by Sharon!

by Sharon Fritchman

Hi everyone!  I cannot believe that it’s March already.  I am here today to share a page that I made using some amazing Scrap FX products:

My family recently celebrated our youngest daughter’s 16th birthday. I decided to scrap this photo from one of the celebrations:

Here’s how I created this page using Scrap FX chipboard pieces, a stencil, and a stamp.

First, I gather all of the tools that I thought I would use:

Next, I picked my patterned paper:

The paper is from the Graphic 45 “Imagine” collection, which is perfect for a Steampunk theme!

I wanted to add more interest on my page and used this awesome circle-star stencil:

and Powertex structure paste:

Next, I added some texture to my page by distressing the edges of the patterned paper and by using burlap:

I wanted more interest and used this cool Scrap FX stamp and distress ink:

I affixed coordinating ribbon that I had in my stash for even more texture:

I placed my matted photo directly onto the ribbon and burlap:

Finally, I machine stitched the background paper together to direct your eye to the center of the page:

Next comes the part I enjoyed the most . . .

I heat embossed Scrap FX chipboard pieces with coordinating ivory, burgundy and teal embossing powder:

The Steampunk shoe comes in 2 pieces:

The Fairy Wings set:

And I picked these letters from the Alpha Circle set:

I put it all together and came up with my final page:

Here are some close-ups:

I used the following Scrap FX products:
