All Geared Up To Read . . . a Scrapbook Page by Sharon

by Sharon Fritchman

Hi fellow crafters!  I am excited to be sharing my very first scrapbook page made for the the ScrapFX design team today!

Here are some insights into how I made my page . . .

First, I knew that I wanted to scrap a favorite photo that I took of my daughter reading:

Next, I decided to use the “Storybook Ending” paper made by Reminisce.  Isn’t it perfect for a page about reading?

I trimmed and distressed around edges of bazzill cardstock which are 2 different shades of teal that coordinate with my colors in my daughter’s top in the photo. I fussy cut around the book and stars image, cut out some of the stars, and affixed them to my page. Then I fussy cut the photo of my daughter and added it right at the top of the book.

Next I machine stitched around the border of my page to draw your eye into the photo.

Now the fun part . . . I heat embossed the chipboard pieces: Illumination(light bulb), Accessory Cogs(gears), and the All Geared Up title.  I used Ivory embossing powder for my title, and silver, copper, and gold embossing powder for the gears and light bulb.

To complete my title, I added alpha stickers “to read” that I had in my stash.

Finally, I added some glitter and splats of black and white paint to add dimension to my page.

I have to tell you, it’s so quick and easy to make a fun scrapbook page that means something to you, if you have all the right products at your fingertips.  Please check out the ScrapFX store to find these chipboard pieces:

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate your visit and hope you get a chance to check out what the rest of the talented design team is doing this month.  I am looking forward to being back on February 26!  See you then.
