Rocking Around The Christmas Tree

by Niamh Baly

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing a 12 x 12 layout featuring the Christmas Tree Border.

The design of this layout is fairly simple, using a large (25 x 20cm) photo, some matching papers (Basic Grey) and a whole stack of quote stickers. I like to use the stickers as part of the overall design, and in this case, they helped tie to colours of the Christmas border and the background papers together. As Christmas collections get used infrequently, I like that I can use up my sticker stash to create a fun element. I coloured the Scrap FX Christmas border with Posca Paint pens (a lovely present from Santa – he knows me so well!!!).  Acrylic paint markers are a quick and convenient way to add a bright pop of colour to your chipboard embellishments. I also added a strip of adhesive rhinestones to both the border and one of the trees to give added dimension and a bit of bling. Finally, I decided to be brave and journal directly onto my photo with a white paint pen. I decided that it would be much easier to read in this position, and I liked the Christmas tree paper too much to hide it under journalling spots.

I hope this layout inspires you to dive into your Christmas stash of goodies and start using them up as well. Happy creating,
