Celebrate Bubbles
by Scarlett
Hi ScrapFX Peeps! Lately I’ve been trying out new techniques and mediums to play with. I mostly experiment on tags and when an outcome is good I’ll transfer it to a project. My first project share for today is a direct result from some of this playtime – ending in a funky, bright card:

The background here was created using spray inks, acrylic paint, stencils, and gesso. I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to work a birthday card out of such deep, bright colors but with ScrapFX chippies in hand just about any creative dilemma can be overcome!! And speaking of stencils....did you check out the store??? Did you see all the new stencils ScrapFX has to offer?? Drool worthy I tell you! So cannot wait to try them out!!
This card was based off a sketch and you can check out my blog to see that if you’d like.

The Jack in the Box (2012101) chippie was colored with pens - white included. The frame is a piece from the Rope Rings set (2012090) I sprayed with ink spray. Then I pounced some gesso through a piece of star punchinella and rubbed over the piece in random spots using Pan Pastels. My new found love and must have items are the Retro Flowers!! Search those words and you will find three different sets to choose from. On the card I went with the Retro Flowers Mini (2010275) and spruced them up a bit by adding colored string gel with a sprinkling of fine glitter on top. Of course I had to go with my go to alphas - itt bitty bets!! The font I used was Itty Bitty Bets Serif (2005102). I traced on the letters with a white pen to make them pop on the background and called it a done one.
Since I already shared a birthday LO here this month I thought it would be fun to do a page on something we used lots at birthday parties when my kiddos were little – bubbles!!! Love them!! I was totally inspired to create this page by the Circle Flourish piece (2010287) and some cute photos I caught of my tween.

Here is the Circle Flourish in all its beauty!! I never thought I'd be a flourish girl but I must say I do have my eye on a couple others. For this piece I worked with watercolors, PearlEx, and texture spray. I did use a very thin, watered down coat of gesso to start off with and built up with color from there. In real life this piece has so much shimmer to it and looks as if it had bubble solution spilled on it - love how ScrapFX chipboard can really stand up to all sorts of mediums!

Itty Bitty Bets Serif (2005102) done up the same as above on the card. If you haven't picked up a apackage of these sweet lil' alphas - you need to!! The best I tell ya'! You can also really see the texture created for the background - tons of paint, gesso, string gel.
And here’s what all these little pieces came together to create:

This page was totally made by using the Circle Flourish - if you 've got bubble photos pick one of these bad boys up!! I love how it functions as a frame for my page as well as a flourish and really anchors it all.
Whatcha’ think? Ready to try out bright, bold, in your face scrapping?? Have photos you’re waiting to find the right chippies for? Leave a comment so we can help you find what you’re looking for or check out what you’ve done!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have great days!
