A Trio of Projects featuring New and Old

by Scarlett Salamone

Hi ScrapFX Fans! Today I have a trio of projects to share. First up a scrapbook page.

I’ve been tossing this photo around on my creative table for far too long and decided to get it scrapped when I found the You Are My Sunshine wordlet. In fact I found two LoL.

I painted the words ‘you are my’ with black gesso. Sunshine was painted in gold. The clouds were made using the Clouds B Dream stamp set and white paint over patterned paper.

I added some texture and visual movement to the background with the Chevron Stencil. It’s an oldie but goodie, need to keep it in sight for a while. 😉 The little patterned paper jean pocket made for the perfect journal tag holder. The Lace Tag Set tags are of course my favorite to use.

Another oldie but goodie are the tiny type alphas you can see all decked out in glitter above. The border piece above the letters is the new Wire Border. A bit of silver embossing powder and it was set to go!

My next project is a gift bag.

I’m not sure who gets more joy when I gift, myself or the recipient, ha! I have much fun creating unique packaging in hopes of making someone feel, well Awesome!

I have a lot of wordlets in my stash and have always thought of mostly using them on scrapbook pages, but this was one well suited for a thank you giftbag.

The background was created using a variety of stamps and stencils. Here’s a closer peek:

This Scallop Border stamp, swoon! And check out the cool funky pattern from the new Maze Stamp.

My last project is the cover to my Junk Journal. You guys this is an incredible addition to the ScrapFX product line up, pairs amazingly with all the goodies!

When I received my journal I put it together as soon as time allowed and then I stared at it, ha! Ever had that happen, blank page blahs, ugh! I finally decided to just go for it and start throwing some paint around.

Layers and layers of paint were built up and then I started stamping and stenciling. Here you can see stamps used from the Round & Round set along with stenciling through the Marking Making A Droplets stencil.

The Free Spirit Butterfly was my main inspiration for the cover. I knew it suited how this journal would be used. To alter it I heat embossed a couple different powders onto it.

The ‘free spirit’ portion and a good look at another new mark making stamp, Grids.

I hope I’ve inspired you to ‘carve your own path’ and have some creative fun!
