Life Thoughts on Projects

by Scarlett Salamone

Hey ScrapFX Peeps! Scarlett on the blog today sharing some projects featuring ScrapFX goodies and positive thoughts on life.

This cheeky little girl of mine just turned 18!! Ahhhh!!!, thankful I scrap. 😉 This picture is a favorite of mine and I’m quite sure I’ve scrapped it before but this time I had a blast putting a whimsical spin on things using some of the newest ScrapFX stamps.

This background started out with the Coral stencil. It was placed on the background paper and sprayed with some shimmery mist. The Microbes stamp set reminded me of bubbles; I stamped and heat embossed them with a glittery powder. I splattered other texture mists and inks across the background as well as used my all time favorite stencil, Random Dots, with some ink for additional bubble effect.

Here is a closer look at the texture of the background:

Simple methods, stunning effect right??!

I have never journaled quite as much as I have since I began using the Lace Tag sets, in particular the Lace Tag Set Kraft for this project. My pens flow across them and the little details at the bottom can really that little something to a project.

When I stopped my creative process to look at where I was I realized I hadn’t yet figured out, nor placed, a title. ‘Choose Happiness’ kept jumping out at me, this photo oozes with that message. I paired it with the Memories, midi and decided to roll with it.

On to some AJ pages

I often have photos that don’t really cut it for a scrap page, but I cherish none the less. This quote from the Teen Advice Transparency prompted to dig out one of my fav fuzzy photos and journal because we can all use a dose of Courage to be ourselves.

I wanted this life thought to stand out on its own. I turned, once again, to my handy stash of Lace tags and quickly put together an insert for my journal.

When the tag is pulled back it reveal the full photo/page and my feeling at that very moment #surreal.

Stand in Love. Sigh… I wish we could drop all the labels and judgement we throw around at one another and instead unite to Stand in Love. Wouldn’t it be grand?

This page started over the top of some random paint and stencil marks made from creating other work. I outlined one of the Party Girls stencil with a paint marker and proceeded to work my background around it.

Thanks for joining me today. Be courageous, choose happiness, and stand in love!
