Scrap FX Trend Report- Rainbows

by MichelleH

Hiya!

Michelle and Kristine here with a crafty trend report.

Rainbows are popping up everywhere!

I see them on cakes, in home design and in my favorite scrapbook projects. I’ve been meaning to make a rainbow page for a while so when I saw Kristine’s gorgeous minimalist take on this trend I decided to get to work.

Here’s her page:

This gorgeous page by Kristine uses Dream theme package ( 2007221) Butterfly mixed ( 2008157) and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Deep plum, Jack Frost, Frost, Lemon Meringue and Candy apple red Color Wash: in Lettuce and butterscotch

Here’s mine:

I've been experimenting with water color paints. I really like the gradient effect in the journaling box. I used magenta and yellow but was discouraged to find they didn't mix very well so I tried blotting the paint with a paper towel and- YAY! It's perfect! I used the same colors on the Scrap FX curly bird (model 2012084) but found a gesso base is needed to have them show. I then used a diamond glaze glue on top to give the piece some shine and dimension. I added the branch frame (2012081) last and left it alone since it's pretty much the perfect color as is.

Fellow team member Scarlet is ahead of the crowd with a page she made earlier this year:

I LOVE Scarlett's winsome page designs! Here she is using Scrap FX "Splat" (2007017), bird family (2010032) and itty bitty bets "typewriter" font (2005103). Scarlett also used tar gel paste she colored herself to get that wonderfully gooey magenta drip technique- MUST try that!

And last but not least Sharryn’s AWESOME insta-frame page which I think you may have spotted here earlier this week but I loved it so much I had to include it for everyone to check out again.

I especially love how Sharryn finished the birthday banner chipboard piece on top and the drawn border on the page.

Have you noticed some new trends you are excited to try out? Leave a comment in the box below with a link to your blog post and we will swing by to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Michelle
