Wishes and Encouraging Words

Hey There ScrapFX Peeps!

Today it is all about wishes and encouraging words as I share with you a LO and some tags.

First up the LO:

Wishes Do Come True

Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted my own cow. I grew up going to relatives farms and having several smaller livestock and feathery friends of my own. The one thing I longed for however was a cow. That wish of mine came true a little over a year ago when I asked my hubs if I could get a Jersey heifer calf and much to my surprise he said YES!!!

When I saw the Wishes Do Come True chippie I knew I would use it to document a picture of my Clementine. A real life wish come true to me. I used glitter glue to alter my chippie piece and while you can’t really see the sparkle on the black, I do enjoy the textured look it gives.

Another perfect chippie for this wish come true story is this sweet little cow from the Moo Cluck Oink set. In this picture Clementine is still fairly young and her own horns haven’t grown out just yet, however, she does indeed look just like this silhouette from the side now. 🙂 I’m learning how to love and embrace raw chippies, a beautiful former DT gal is my inspiration to continue trying this look. For this LO, I think the raw chippie really helps ground all the blasts of color.

From wishes to encouraging words. We all need them at times and I had a blast creating a set of art tags as reminders to keep plugging along.

Some of my favorite creative time is spent coloring stamped images and playing with paints and patterns. The Fancy Feather stamps were just begging to be stamped immediately on to some heavy weight paper and colored.

A Copic marker coloring expert I am not. I do not grab for them often enough but enjoy the rich color/coverage they give. These feather stamps are a super image to get some practice in on going forward.

The background of each tag was painted first with back gesso. The richness of black gesso in color cannot be beat for me.

Each tag then had random swipes of white paint along with a few others to create a foundation. Simple doodled painted shapes add in funky patterns.

Each feather was placed on a background with somewhat contrasting colors. My thought for doing this was to get a good popped image and attention drawn to the words.

As I proceeded to work on these tags I completely enjoyed the freeness I felt. Sometimes that freeness led to an “oh my goodness what am I going to do with this mess” thought, as is the case with the above tag. I really despised it, but continued on because I didn’t want to waste the tag LOL. Persistence is key because finished it is one of my favorites from the set. I think the wording is fitting.

I am about the plainest gal you could meet in real life, but I do love me some sparkle and shine on projects. 😉 Glitz and glam doesn’t necessarily mix with farm life but a little smidge of glitter glue to finish off a project works wonderfully. The bonus is I typically wipe my hands on my jeans so I do get a little glitzy I guess – Ha!

This was another one of those “oh geesh what did you do?” moments but I chugged along and am kind of fond of the funkiness this exudes.

I do hope you are inspired to head off to your creative nooks full of wishes…they really do come true!…and encouraging words.

See you next month!

xx Scarlett
