My Rural Retreat

Hi Everyone! Scarlett with you today to share a page and give you a glimpse in to my world.
Had a ton of fun with this page layering up ScrapFX chipboard pieces, papers, doilies, twine, borders - pretty much anything in the right color scheme that came in sight landed on my page. The Rural Retreat worldet (2012098) was made to stand out by using some bright mustard colored embossing powder on it and attaching it to the Post & Rail Fence, plain (2012074) with twine.
The photo on this layout is of my backyard. I love how the clouds look and could lay on my back in the grass for hours on end watching them go by. The fields are freshly plowed in this picture and awaiting a new crop to begin growing. Of course there are lots of dandelions too – got get some color in somehow, right?
I used a lot of chipboard pieces in a compact space - lets start with the framed photo and work around clockwise. The Simple Frame A Rectangle (2012047) was dry embossed, inked, and misted. I cut apart some pieces of the Forest Tree (2012079), painted the tops, and left the bottoms bare. The tiny bird is from the Bird family, mini (2010032) set - I seriously love these little birdies! Some coarse texture paste gave the fence piece a roughed up look and to add color I used Pan Pastels.
This was the first time I really layered up more than a couple pieces and know I’ll definitely be doing this again in the future. What are some of your favorite ways to use multiple pieces on a project? Share a link if you have one!
