She…

by Anguree Jansen Van Rensburg

Good morning dear friends

I am back on the blog today sharing 2 layouts using a variety of new and old products. With the focus of Mother’s day in May we had a bit of a “She” theme here at Scrap FX.

If I had to choose a favourite product of the month, it would defnitely be the She Phrases Transparency. I used it on 4 of my Design projects this month and still have a couple spare. So yes you will see me using them everywhere.

As you may know I love to use monochrome colours and this month I chose to add Kraft to the mix.

I started by laying out my chipboard onto my page deciding where each piece needed to go.

Next I coloured all my chipboard pieces with black Archival ink. As you can see I cut one of the pieces so I could “extend” it so to speak covering the gap with my photo.

Once the design was done it was easy. I simply matted my photo and layered my chosen chipboard pieces and adhered them to my background. All the transparency quotes were adhered using clear gel medium which ensures a smooth beautiful finish.

This is a little different , even for me. You will note that though it is still simplistic it has a whole variety of different products. Sticking to the monochrome theme and altering my chipboard allowed me to still have a lot of white space and create a sense of balance across the page, despite the almost scattered look.

I started by creating a background using stamping, paint and stenciling daisies with molding paste using the Daisy Flowers stencil.

Next I coloured my chipboard with Archival ink and silver Alcohol ink. I did not want to use the frame as it was so decided to cut it up and use different sections of it across the focus area. This way the “She” does not only functions as a title but also as the start of the sentences in my journaling.

Again all the quotes were adhered using clear gel medium.

I hope you enjoyed this time with me today and will catch up with you again soon.
