=Achromatic +1

by Anguree Jansen Van Rensburg

Hello everyone

It’s Anguree on the blog and I have not one but 2 layouts to share with you today. This month I was inspired by an achromatic chrome theme. So for my first layout I used only black, white and grey and silver (shiny grey), which are called achromatic, as they are without chroma or colour.

In my second layout  I approached it a little like a math equation, so added 1 more colour,  pink, to create a mono colour layout. (Mono , being 1 colour in different shades, as black, grey and silver do not have any colour as such).

Achromatic:  happy moments

In this layout I  created a background by stamping some black spray onto the white cardstock, using acetate. Once it was dry, I stamped it with the Scrap FX Numbers stamp and black Archival ink. Next I added some texture by swirling on some black and white acrylic paint.

I wanted to add bling and decided to emboss the chipboard with silver embossing powder and Tinby Designs Metallic Melts.

To finish it off, I  simply matted my photo onto black cardstock, and added a couple of bling and enamel dots to add some detail.

As you can see, you don’t always need lots and lots of embellishments. Less can be more.

I started adding pink acrylic ink to acetate and stamping it onto white watercolour paper.  I added some stamping but as you will see it is not visible in the final project. Yet it helped me to arrange my composition and added to my inspiration.

I decided to use to cut my chosen chipboard in half instead of using it as a single piece and coloured it with black archival ink.

I then decided to colour the  words with silver Adirondack ink.
I absolutely love this ink, because  it’s quick drying, easy and leaves a gorgeous finish on the chipboard.

Next I simply arranged matching embellishments around my photo to suit the chipboard I’ve chosen.

Done –Quick and simple 🙂

Thank you so much for visiting us today. Please stay in touch for more inspiration from my fellow design team members throughtout the month and  feel free to leave us your thoughts and comments.

Till next time, have fun being creative.
