WOW! Friday already? How time flies when you’re having scrappy fun

My husband has taken two of our sons away up the bush so I’ve managed to get a little bit more scrapping in…just a little

Recently my husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary and we were lucky enough to return to the place we had our Reception all those years ago. Of course, we had a quick photo taken on the day and I couldn’t wait to scrap it.

I wanted the photo to be the focal point of my layout so I chose a Scrap FX 2 part Classic Decorative Frame C. First of all, I used the top scroll section as a template and lightly misted just above where the photo would sit on the page. It’s been a while since I covered chipboard in patterned paper but I still love the effect so used this technique on the main part of the frame. I then stamped the scroll section with Versamark in and sprinkled it with black embossing powder. I grabbed a paintbrush and lightly wiped some embossing powder away. This gives a gorgeous, worn, vintage look to chipboard.

I used the Wordlet Simply Us on my layout as my title so I lightly inked it then stamped over it in black with a newspaper print stamp to tie it in with the frame. I used the Sweetheart chipboard heart set with my title. Using the same technique as I did with the frame, I grabbed the large heart and used it as a template to form part of the background area for my Wordlet. I then covered two smaller hearts in patterned paper and adhered them to the Wordlet with foam mount for added definition.

I also used a funky Scrap FX pointing finger and a cool clock to represent time on either side of my photo and placed the cardstock sticker ‘Just My Type’ over two Scrap FX tags.

So, now I can show my husband when he gets home later today that I really was thinking of him.
