Wordlet Love- using your title chipboard in creative ways
by MichelleH
HIYA!
Michelle here with a quick post featuring one of my favorite Scrap FX products- title wordlets.
I’m always up for a beautifully designed font. I REALLY love the two fonts in this wordlet:
But I’m saving my engagement photo for another project.
What to do?
Simple! Snip off the bling on that ring (save it for later!) and make a page about the other love of my life- my 2 year old daughter!

Materials: scrap FX wordlet 2012061, Flourish Kraft tag set 2012041 K, Kraft Lace tag set 2012040 K, swallow 2010054, kraft paper, buttons from American Crafts, My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey, Studio Calico Mister Huey in Calico Cream, EK Success score board (for embossed lines). Wax baking paper and cooking twine. Spools from Maya Road.
My daughter is perfectly healthy today despite very serious complications during her first and last trimesters. Many tests were taken, many medical decisions were recommended but I trusted my maternal instincts and stuck by her. Every year I make a page to remind myself it really IS ok in the end- if it isn’t ok, it’s not the end.
Here are some detail shots:

The embossed lines were made with my bone folder and score board. I wanted texture but didn't want to add too much contrast and take away from the photo.

I really liked the color wash effect I got from rubbing some cream colored acrylic paint on the title.

I try to use as many buttons as I can on my pages- I have jars full of them! I used unbleached baking twine to accentuate the edges of the page and baking paper to matt the photo.
I also made a “quick card” for a friend who is expecting. I wanted to match the couple’s funky, cool style so I used nail polish to color the Scrap FX alphas for the title, neon thread and some felt.

This was supposed to be a quick card- it turned into a 2 hour project when I said- HEY! Why not SEW the triangles onto the front? The papers are from Basic Grey.
I used Funky Alphabet item 2010286 to make the title. I love the clean edged font and it’s super easy to fit on card projects.

Nail polish is great for coloring chip board! A few dabs of Glossy Accents makes it shine and gives it dimension (if it sinks in- use a generous amount and you won't need to add that second coat)
Thanks for swinging by! Don’t forget to link up your Scrap FX Project! We’d love to see it!

Thank you so much Yuka! I love your work- this is a huge compliment!
omygracious.. what a gorgeous layout… such a sweet photo, I’m so happy everything turned out for your family. All those buttons are so awesome, and am loving that title work!
Thank you so much Leah! I’m especially proud of this page as I tried a few new things- including just using buttons- I really like the candy feel of those right now.
This photo is so heart wrenching. The eyes say it all. What a little miracle huh? The wordlet is so perfect.
Hi Magie! I love your project! Wonderful work! Thank you so much- yes that’s why I keep scrapping this photo. I have this image burned into my brain. I will never forget how vulnerable I felt seeing her there struggling for every breath- she’s ok now- normal in every way- that still fills me with wonder every once in a while.
Great projects…Love the use of fingernail polish on the chipboard words & the layout of your daughter is both heart-wrenching and a testiment to hope & love.
Smiles~
