Beaucoup D’Amour by Sharryn Thomson

Hi everyone, Sharryn here with my very first Scrap FX DT post…how exciting!

Today I would like to share a layout I created with a photo I took of my daughter while trying out a new camera lens recently.  I loved the vintage feel to the photo so chose to use the Scrap FX large butterfly circle frame (2011161) to help make the photo the focal point of my page.

Scrap FX, vintage, flourish, chipboard, tag

I am loving embossing on chipboard at the moment so coloured the main part of the frame and the butterfly with detail with two different distress inks then clear embossed the whole piece.

Rather than cut the photo to fit, I placed the frame over the left side and under the right side of the photo to highlight the negative space of the picture.

I added a corrugated chipboard mat under the photo and to continue the circular theme and keep the focal point, which is the photo, flowing I added some lovely embossed Scrap FX flourishes (2010148) to either side.
I then embossed a chipboard flourish negative and added it to the top right of my page for added detail and continuity.
*Here’s a tip: Never throw away the negative from your chipboard pieces as they can be used in exactly the same way and can add a lot of detail to a project!

I also used a Scrap FX tag (2012042) (have I mentioned how much I love these yet??) which I lightly misted and placed my sticker title over. I added a small pearl flourish and voila!  My title was complete.

Here’s hoping you are having a relaxing Easter break and getting some scrapping done!
Until next time,
Sharryn 🙂
